Bill, more and more people recognize the impact of the problem. Everyone becomes an unwilling victim, the policyholder, the person who gets in an accident with the policyholder, highway drivers contending with unsafe cars based on shody repair jobs by the insurance company, public hospitals who have to foot the bill for injured persons whose insurance policies REFUSE to pay, etc., etc., there is no stopping point. Driving is not a …
Driving is not a given freedom and if a person cannot afford it, barring being wiped out by a serious illness, then that person need to re-evaluate his/her life and priorities. Otherwise, there’s the bus. OH, I live in New Jersey.. one of the highest insurance in the country… I own a $40,000 car/full coverage… and its the least of my problems right now.

I agree that there should be more consumer rights.. I though you might touch on something to the effect of insurance companies using your credit scores to adjust your payment, But living in a populated area is justified for higher rates. It’s not just how decent of a driver you are… it’s how high the risk is of someone hitting you. Even parked on a street. Also, lower rates for low income is ridiculous. You have to earn the right to drive. (more)–>
